The Managers

Édouard CARMIGNAC Chairman and Chief Executive Founding member Carmignac Gestion Edouard Carmignac holds a degree in Economics and a Masters of Business Administration. After working for a number of financial institutions, in 1976 he was appointed Assistant Director at Banque de la Société Financière Européenne responsible for loans to the energy and mining sectors. He worked as a stockbroker at Hamant-Carmignac between 1984 and 1989. He founded Carmignac Gestion in 1989 and, in his role as chairman, is closely involved in the management strategy of its UCITS funds.

Éric HELDERLÉ Managing Director Founding member Carmignac Gestion Eric Helderlé was awarded an MBA from Iowa State University and was involved in setting up the portfolio of the insurance company Trans Expansion, a subsidiary of Compagnie du Midi, from 1984 until 1987. He was appointed business development manager in 1987 of Pyramide Gestion, a subsidiary of Hamant-Carmignac, and was responsible for coordinating the company's expansion. In 1989, he set up Carmignac Gestion with Edouard Carmignac, and is responsible for general management. He is also a director of Carmignac Gestion and chairman of Carmignac Gestion Luxembourg.

Éric Le Coz Managing Director Luxembourg Eric Le Coz is a graduate of the Ecole des Mines and the Institut supérieur des affaires in France, as well as the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, United States. Initially, he worked as a researcher for the French Atomic Energy Commission before entering the financial sector in Chicago (USA) as a trader on the futures markets. Later, he was responsible for market trading and subsequently worked as portfolio manager, becoming Fund Manager of the Carmignac Emergents and Carmignac Patrimoine funds in 1998.
